Full Moon
When developmental psychology takes interest in the “depths”, thoughts first turn to the mother & her child’s internal maternal images; when developmental astrology takes interest in the “depths”, interest turns to the symbolic Moon, especially when it is waxing to fullness, traversing the Moon’s sign, Cancer, &/or the 4th house of the nuclear family; this webpage is devoted to the links between psychological health & maternity.
Regular Full Moon articles will appear on this page, with an introduction and link to the full article at waxing moons of our choosing.

Basics of Developmental Astrology
In the 21stC, human developmental psychology has largely left 20thC theorists such as Sigmund Freud & Jean Piaget in its rearview mirror; and, of course, astrology was left behind long before this psychology appeared as a field of academic study; CLICK HERE for FA’s discussion of the degree to which this vitally important field is short-changing its history and pre-history.
Basics of Developmental Astrology (cont.)
“Developmental astrology” is the “saviour” of “the individual”. To be so, astrology first needs to be “saved” from “traditional astrology” (i) Ptolemy’s incorrect “regressive” ‘1–12–11–10–9’ was “saved” by Copernicus, (ii) ‘11 Lamarck’’s incorrect idea of “striving to improve &/or perfect” was “saved” by Darwin & (iii) the ‘1–12–11 trick’ of Satan – that the future can be “consciously” ‘9 divined’ & ‘10 controlled’ – was “saved” by Freud.

Basics of Life Cycle Astrology
The astronomical-biological concordance between the perpetually anti-clockwise Lunar cycle & the menstrual cycle is the basis of “life cycle astrology”… that, itself, is the basis of “developmental astrology” (e.g. Freud-astrology, Klein-astrology, Jung-astrology, Piaget-astrololgy); as important as Anna Freud’s conception of “secondary autonomy” is, “ego psychologists” do well to prioritize “tertiary autonomy”.

Basics of Life Cycle Astrology (cont.)
When “individuality” is sought, astrology can flatter-to-deceive insofar as the birth horoscope highlights “the individual”… but, then, it receives a “collective” interpretation with an “astrological cookbook”. More concerningly, “the individual” is often narrowed down to the 1st house of the birth horoscope, a house that is often taken to feed-(back)-up into the collectivistic-pathogenic 4th quadrant. The ‘4 I.C.’ is “me-in-here”.
Basics of Life Cycle Astrology (cont.+)
“The individual” does well to leave the ascendant behind at the earliest opportunity & establish a strong sense of “self” in the 4th house, strong enough to process endogamous “complexes” & to set sights on further development ‘up-into’ the exogamous 3rd quadrant; clockwise conceptions of the horoscope indicate an attraction to collectives that, when acted upon, instigate unbalanced power trips & psychopathologies
